It's here -- the Colminator iPhone App.
Now you too can have your very own award-winning Drum n Bass podcast experience with a fully functional sound board.
Wtih choice sayings from the main himself, Tony Colman aka London Elektricity, this is the must have app for Hospital Records and DnB fans alike.
This is the third app from the Code Army stable -- with more on the way. It's a fun little app and I was very happy to received this box of goodies from the guys at Hospital. Massive respect.
"The new DanceNode website has officially launched bringing a new design, quicker page loads, and many happy pandas.
We hope you like the new look of the website. The previous design was in reality around 5 or so years old so we thought it was time to bring it up-to-date."
So, what are you waiting for -- head on over and check it out.
"Having been rejected, accepted and subsequently removed, developer Manomio has finally gotten its iPhone Commodore 64 emulator back on Apple's App Store.
Now, with further revised code, the emulator has reappeared on the App Store. In addition to the revised code, Casualgaming.biz reports that the application has received a boost in performance as well as three new games, International Basketball, International baseball, and International Tennis. These new titles join the other bundled games, Dragons Den, Le Mans, Arctic Shipwreck, Jack Attack and Jupiter Lander."
At $5.99 AU, it's one of the more expensive iPhone apps, but if it's just what you're looking for then it's a bargain. Pity it doesn't come with IK+ otherwise, it would be a no-brainer.

Whilst I never really liked the original (too much walking around, talking, yawn) I must say Ubisoft are pulling out all the stops on this one.
"The Windows 7 Burger was a collaborative effort between Microsoft and Burger King to promote both companies in Japan for the Windows 7 release. The burger contains a whopping 7 layers of beef, which measures to a 12cm (5-inch) tower. The first 30 burgers were sold for 777 yen ($8.55 USD). Any Windows 7 burger after the first 30 were sold for 1450 yen ($16 USD). The burger contains a total of 2120 calories, which is almost a day’s worth of calories for most people!
According to TIME, the burger joint sold over 10,000 of these burgers since October 30th. Considering that there are only 15 Burger Kings in all of Japan and the obvious fact that this burger is probably not too healthy, this is an impressive number."
Ughh ... not even I'd attempt to eat that.
"2009 is definitely the year of minimal Drum n Bass and Critical Records have collated the sound from the freshest artists and packaged it on their new LP - Critical Sound."

News.com.au reports that "The sequel to a popular video game has been modified so it can be sold in Australia. A toned-down version of Left 4 Dead 2 has been given a rating of MA15+ after the original was refused classification last month.
According to the Classification Board's report, the modified version removes considerable amounts of gore from gameplay."
This is bulls--t! Where is the R-rating that video games in Australia badly needs. All I can say is, I hope Steam isn't touched.
Alix Perez (Charleroi, Belgium) who first came to prominence back in 2005, has been described as one of the most talented Drum n Bass producers as well as one of the “Leaders of the Nu Skool” by Knowledge Magazine, he now brings us his LP titled “1984”. But does this LP live up to the hype?

Logistics aka Matt Gresham (Cambridge, UK) follows up his successful "Reality Checkpoint" with his third LP - "Crash, Bang, Wallop!" Hospital has been dominating the Drum n Bass scene for so long, can their artists keep them on top or have they jumped the shark ?

After two months off (great Underworld track btw), DanceNode has returned to the digital airwaves.

As you can tell, I'm pretty excited, I've been waiting 13 days for Apple to approve it. In fact, during that time I've made a number of updates, so look out for version 1.1 coming soon.
Microsoft has launched new commercials featuring Dean Cain, who you might remember from Lois & Clark or Ripley's Believe it or Not (snigger) now stars as a Public Service Announcer promoting Internet Explorer 8.

Lincoln Barrett aka High Contrast has released his "best of" compilation titled "Confidential", something that is unheard of in the Drum n Bass scene. So, is it worth your hard earned cash ? Damn straight.

Apple has released a public beta of Safari 4, it's WebKit based web browser for Windows and Mac OS X. Apple have dramatically increased the browser's performance.
This is due to a new JavaScript engine, the Nitro Engine, which is said to run several times faster than its predecessor and up to 30 times faster than Internet Explorer 7.
It also has some pretty cool features, with a minimum look like Chrome, plus Coverflow view for your History and a Top Sites (most visited) home page.

Jamie Pullen aka Mistabishi has released his debut album entitled "Drop" and it's a real mixed bag of sorts. By that I mean, it is a Drum n Bass / Grime album -- but also, there are hits and misses.

{mosimage}Last night I attended the BIG (Brisbane Infrastructure Group) Microsoft event on Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 -- two things I was really interested in hearing about.
About a week before, they announced that they were adding some XBox 360 session, which I didn't overly care about, but figured I could powernap during that ;). Over the years, I've been to a number of Microsoft events and they NEVER provide drinks -- they always have tea/coffee, but no water. Other vendor events always have water and usually have juice as well. This event was no exception.

"Ricardo Montalban, the Mexican-born actor who became famous as the wish-fulfilling Mr. Roarke in TV's Fantasy Island and secured his place in the sci-fi hall of fame as the title character in Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, died Wednesday morning at his home, a Los Angeles city councilman told the Associated Press. He was 88."

Dr Dobb's is essentially no more. "The official story is that the magazine is evolving into a section within Information Week, but that's just spin."
Dr. Dobb's first started publication in 1976, about the same time that Microsoft and Apple were founded.
For those unfamiliar with this publication, DDJ would cover topics aimed at programmers. It was also the first regular periodical to focus on software rather than hardware.
"Revealing a closely-guarded secret, the network said the 26-year-old would take over from the popular David Tennant as the star of the science fiction show that first appeared on British television screens in 1963."
British Actor Matt Smith, best known for his appearances in the BBC adaptations of Phillip Pullman's The Ruby in the Smoke and The Shadow in the North alongside Billie Piper, has been cast to play the Eleventh Doctor from 2010.
He's certainly got big shoes to fill, Christopher Eccelston took the part to new heights (and then dropped it) with David Tennant picking it up beautifully and making it his own in an even better way.
